Parker Stinson’s performance at the USATF Marathon Championships was heroic.
Simply just looking at the results of a race or any sport for that matter, doesn’t really tell the complete story. It attempts to tell the ending, but thats about it. The person digesting the results then creates their own false narrative in an attempt to piece together an explanation as to why the results look the way they do. An attempt however, that is based off of absolutely zero scientific knowledge and one hundred percent preconceived notions.
"Seven years ago I made a choice to run cross country, it's the best decision I've ever made"
Cross Country has taught me more in life that I could put into words. My coaches always believed in me even when I wanted to give up. I ran in every race. I raced when I was injured. I raced when I was sick. I even raced when I was extremely exhausted and not recovered from the meets previously in the week.
Cross Country through the eyes of a parent
Yes, My wife and I are those crazy parents who run all over the course and cheer for every member of the team. We work to know each runners name, where they generally finish in accordance to the rest of the team, what outside factors tend to impact their performance and offer some encouragement while they fight to the finish. Why do we do that?
