More Than a Hobby.
Both my parents are runners, that’s what got me into it. I used to go out on summer nights after they got home from work and run three miles with them. I don’t know how they put up with me asking to walk every 10 minutes, but somehow every Wednesday night they managed. We’d run out to this beautiful open field and see the reds, oranges, and pinks melt together in the sky. Giving us just enough time to make it back home before dark. A lot of things change with time. Homes, schools, friends, but running is always there. As I grew older, running slipped out of my life. The funny thing with running is you can always pick it back up. No matter how old you are, you can always put on a pair of shoes and go for a run. So in high school I picked it back up and discovered my love and passion for this. It’s more than a sport. It brings people together. Running makes the hard times easier and the good times better. As I’ve grown as a person and a runner throughout my high school career, I’ve learned that when you find something that you’re passionate about, you should be fearless in your efforts to pursue it. No matter where you are in life, running will always bring you peace.
