New coaches and their impact on the team.

My freshman year we had a good coach during cross country season(even though the boys and girls teams were very distant from each other and we didn’t connect because all practices seemed separated), but then he left before track for certain reasons and we were left with volleyball or basketball coaches until the district found new coaches for us! Freshman year track season was a mess (even though I still made varsity and set some pretty good PRs.) , it was just weird without an actual running coach that was dedicated to just track. The summer before my sophomore year we finally got to meet our new coaches(we all were so very excited!!) and we began summer training for the upcoming xc season! Our new coaches are AMAZING and we all Connected to them and began to trust them with our trainings quickly, they really do push us to do our very best in whatever we do and they are very dedicated to their job!! The head coach was really dedicated to making the team more like a family and now both the boys and girls are close as can be!! All 3 coaches are like our parents who truly cared about all of us and want to see us succeed both in running and outside in the real world ! Like I said freshman year I still loved running but it just seemed like a thing I could do to get the credit, but now after we got our new coaches I am absolutely obsessed with running and I appreciate how my coaches have changed my life for the better! The whole team after meets, or practices would all go out to eat and just hangout , including the coaches!!! When we would go to out of town meets and stay the night , we have a tradition and the coaches take us to our favorite place Rosa’s(it’s the best!!!) i love how the coaches are so caring and want to get to know us and our potentials! This xc season was the best by far for both teams! Our new coach set out a goal in the summer and we pushed and pushed till we finally met it! I’m so very proud of how far we have came!!! The boys are district champs and varsity girls were runners up (which is amazing since in past years we were never close!) so I’m writing this to explain how my 3 AMAZING new coaches have truly changed my love for running and view on life, they are the absolute best!!! I feel so loved and cared for when I am with my xc family!! So if your coach is dedicated , please show them how appreciative you are for them because any coach could suck at what they do but the truly dedicated ones are very special!
