Lettering as a freshman isn't always as nice as it seems...

Our cross country team had finished our season about two months ago, most of us are running indoor track but some of us have gone to other sports. This season I lettered as a freshman. It’s not as easy as it seems. Race by race I became better and better, like always some races were better than others and some races were great. I was our third or fourth runner for our team, each race it depended on me or this sophomore on who was having a better race. My dad is most harsh on me pushing me to be the best I can, as much as I appreciate it, it does get frustrating if you don’t do what your father wants. As the season started to close off and I ran the last race of the season, I qualified for districts and our team qualified for regionals. Being the only freshman that had qualified for these made other people on my team who I absolutely adore, hate me or not be as nice, it was like that for most of the season since beating upperclassmen. As I had lettered I didn’t care but I fell into a mental block because of some of things being said. We recently had our first meet for indoor track and because of my mental block, I did terrible. Let’s hope it works out...
