"Every foggy morning long run, every warm up... I have come to love"
I didn't join the cross country team because I wanted to run, rather the opposite. My parents forced me to do a sport and sadly cross country was the only "no cut" team. Let me tell you, freshman year was awful. I hated the heat, the pain, and the races. But I loved the team members. So I stayed. My junior year is this year and I've come to an epiphany. It's as if my eyes have been open. I love running. I am able to do things thousands of people cannot. I am limitless. I have pushed all boundaries and I continue to push. Every foggy morning long run, every warm up, every workout i have come to love. The sweat, the grass sticking to my skin, the familiar "whack" of my ponytail hitting my neck all comfort me after the stress of the dreaded junior year. I know I love every mile. I love team camping trips, night time glow runs with my favorite girls, and inside jokes with the guys team. Most of all, I love the bond you from with people on your team and even the random person who beat you by seconds during your race. Cross country went from the worst thing in my life, to the best. #noragrets
