100: Head/Heart/Feet
If you thought 26.2 miles was tough, lace up your running shoes for a journey into the world of ultra running…
“100: Head/Heart/Feet” follows Ultrarunner Zak Wieluns as he attempts to run The Vermont 100 Endurance Race. The film focuses on Zak’s intensive training regiment and its impact on his relationships while exploring the reasons he was singularly dedicated to completing the Vermont 100 Endurance Race, one of the original 100 mile runs in the USA. Filmed on the race’s 25th anniversary, “100: Head/Heart/Feet” records the stories of handlers, pacers and crew members while exploring the friendships that motivate their preparation for this grueling race over Vermont’s paved streets, gravel back roads and wooded trails...in daylight and darkness... all within a 30 hour time limit. A well-trained few complete the race; many will never cross the finish line.

A Long Run
This story is inspiring...
One of my favorite mottos is “the genius is seeing it in the seed.” Bob Anderson saw the potential of the sport of running before most others did. He was and still is a pioneer in our industry. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for having the guts to be a leader of an industry that many considered just for “seasoned” veterans in the sport. Because of pioneers like him, now look at our sport. The walls of intimidation have crumbled because of people like Bob. In watching A Long Run, you readily see the impact and influence Bob has had on our sport over the years. This story is inspiring, motivational, educational and simply makes you want to go out the door and do a run…and a real “long run” at that.
Dave McGillivray
Boston Marathon Race Director
Author of The Last Pick
In 1978 he ran across America
An inspirational life long journey that takes you across the United States and introduces you to some amazing runners.
A Long Run features Bob Anderson who started Runner's World magazine when he was 17 with $100. He grew the magazine to nearly a half million circulation before selling it to Rodale Press in 1984. How did he do it and why did he sell the magazine he loved?
47 years later he started his 50 race challenge... one year - 50 races - 350 miles.
His goal - Run under a 7 min/mile average pace at 64-years-old (which is equal to 5:30/mile average pace for a 30-year-old male or 6:00/mile average pace for a 30-year-old female). That's fast for any age!
